Sweet Stampin' - bringing in the new

Hello!  Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas :o)  Apart from having the family round for Christmas dinner, ours has been pretty lazy really... I've done lots of knitting in front of the tv lol... ooh, and my mum got me a set of crochet hooks for Christmas, so I really do have to learn now!

Our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'anything new'... so new baby, house, job, or just new crafty stash is fine too.

Any tips for taking photos of white cards?  The light is obviously not great for photos at the moment, so I tend to get the light box out, which really doesn't seem to work so well for white cards... I tried two different backgrounds to see which one would work best...

And I'm still not sure, so thought I'd add them both!

I used a giraffe die from Crafter's Companion, adding Spun Sugar distress ink while it was still in the die.  The other dies are all from the MFT die-namics Blueprints 3 set, cut from Papermill white linen card and lightly inked with Spun Sugar.  The sentiment stamp is from Simon Says Stamp, stamped in Memento Espresso Truffle ink, and I added a little Doodlebug enamel dot to finish.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
CRAFT - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes
Simon Says - anything goes

I probably won't be back for a few days, so Happy New Year to you all... hope it's a good one :o)

Penguin baubles!

Hello :o)

I did say I might show some knitted projects occasionally, so here goes... these little penguin baubles are this year's teachers' gifts.

They're definitely not perfect, but they were fun to knit... not so much fun to sew up!  I'd forgotten just how much I hate stitching knitted things together!  The pattern was in Let's Knit magazine, and the only thing I did differently was adding ribbon loops instead of crochet chains... I'm yet to try crochet, but hopefully I'll have a go at that soon.

I've been wrapping presents all day, something else I'm not too keen on... ugh, it just seems never ending!  Next year I MUST be more organised!  Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Hello everyone :o)

Here's another Christmas card, using the recent Sweet Robin image from DigiStamp Boutique.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges

Papercraft Challenges DT - birthday

Good Morning :o)

A while ago I was asked to join the DT at a new challenge called Papercraft Challenges, which has been started by the DT at Cards und More... if you pop over to the blog it's all explained there!

Our first challenge is 'birthday', and there are 3 goody bag prizes to be won.

I've used a cute image from the Maddie - Happy Days set from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with copics, with a bit of Stickles on the bubbles.  The papers are from a pad I bought from The Works, which I now can't find or remember the name of, too much Christmas stuff piled all over my desk... The bow is an MFT die-namics die, pearls and resin flower from my stash and the sentiment is CC Designs.

Hope you're more organised for Christmas than I am, starting to panic slightly lol... can't believe it's less than a week away!

**Oh, and before I go, there's a sale on at DigiStamp Boutique now, with 50% off everything**

Thanks for popping in :o)

Sweet Stampin' - last minute Christmas/ CAS

Happy Saturday :o)

This week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' is 'last minute or CAS Christmas'... great for getting a few much needed extras made!

Now, I know it's a bit unusual, but I really love yellow for Christmas cards... well I like yellow in general really.  I think these papers are Trimcraft baby ones, and the dies are Tonic.  The cardstock is all Crafter's Companion Centura Pearl and the sparkly snowflake centre is from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
CAS on Friday - Christmas
Crafty Addicts - non-traditional Christmas colours
Pile it On - non-traditional holiday colours

Thanks for popping in :o)

Another sweet reindeer from LOTV's Reindeer Collection, coloured with copics, with a sprinkle of Glamour Dust sparkle.  The papers are Doodlebug, the bow die is Memory Box, sentiment is Crafter's Companion and I added some little black buttons from my stash... oh, and a Doodlebug enamel dot too.

I can't promise this is the last of the reindeer invasion, as there are still some sat on my desk waiting to be coloured, along with some other images, as I just don't have enough cards made... eeek!!!

Thanks for popping in :o)

Guest DT - Deep Ocean Challenge

Hello :o)

I was asked to be Guest DT for this week at Deep Ocean Challenge, where the theme is Jingle Bells (anything Christmas)... I was happy to join in and get another Christmas card made.

The fab image is from the Cute Santa Collection from DigiStamp Boutique - I really love this set, and it makes at least one appearance every year.  I coloured it with copics and added Glamour Dust to Santa's hat.  The papers are those lovely Northern Whimsy ones again, fishtail banners and snowflakes are MFT Die-namics dies, sentiment is Clearly Besotted and I added an enamel dot from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Christmas with the Cuties - Santa Claus is coming to town
Crafty Cardmakers - Christmas
Come and Get It - Christmas
Dragonfly Journeys - here comes Santa Claus

I counted my finished Christmas cards today, and am now trying not to panic... knew it was a mistake, I felt quite organised until I had actual numbers lol.  I foresee some speedy cardmaking in my near future...

Thanks for popping in :o)

Reindeer Collection

Hello :o)

Unusually for me, I've made my mum's Christmas card already... I'm not sure why, but family cards always seem to get left until the very last minute, so I'm trying to be a bit more organised this year!  Although I'm not sure if I have enough for posting yet, so I should probably make a few more of those too...

I've used a cute image from LOTV's Reindeer Collection, coloured with copics and a bit of Glamour Dust sparkle.  The papers are old ones that I found when I was moving things around recently... the fishtail and snowflakes are MFT die-namics dies, and I added red pearls from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
MAWTT - T'was the challenge before Christmas (not sure if you can tell as I've covered some of it up, but the paper behind the image is actually printed with the poem)
Allsorts - snowflakes
Winter Wonderland - anything Christmas goes
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes
LOTV on FB - December challenge, anything goes

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Polkadoodles Challenge DT

Good Morning :o)

Time for a new challenge at Polkadoodles... as always it's 'anything goes' for participants, although the DT have all made 'anything but a card' this week.

How I wish I was better at taking photos!  This is quite pretty and sparkly in real life, but I'm not sure you can really tell.  I've used flowers and leaves from Winnie White Christmas, cut them all out, shaped them with an embossing tool, inked the edges and dabbed Stickles all over them with a brush... original plan was to spray them all with Spray & Sparkle, but the can just wouldn't spray... I cleaned the nozzle, poked things into it, swapped for a new spray top, swore a lot and then gave up and got the Stickles out!  I used Collall 3d glue to attach all the flowers to a plain polystyrene bauble... oh, and a pin to attach the ribbon before that.  The flower centres are silver pearls.

I'm entering my card bauble for the following challenges
Paper Minutes - Christmas ornaments
The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge - anything Christmas goes
Dream Valley - Christmas
Pile It On - non-traditional holiday colours

Ooh the more I look at this, the more I dislike the photo lol... might see if I can retake it later!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Harry & Beer - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

My hubby asked me for a card for his colleague, who's leaving to start a new job tomorrow... he and his girlfriend are expecting their first baby any day now too, so I thought 'good luck' would sort of cover all bases...

I used the fabulous Harry & Beer from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with copics.  It made a nice change to colour something non-Christmas!  The papers are Echo Park, sentiment tag stamp is LOTV, corner dies are Whimsy and I added a Doodlebug enamel dot to finish.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Crazy 4 Challenges - colour your day
Simon Says - anything goes
Little Red Wagon - food or beverages

Off to get some breakfast now, as I haven't quite managed that yet - school run done, dog walked, blog post written.... now I can fill my tum lol.  Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Saturday 2 December 2017

Sweet Stampin' - sketch

Happy Saturday :o)

This week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' is a sketch... not overly happy with my card though, I've overdone it on the patterns I think, so it's a bit on the fussy side!

I've used a very pretty image from All Dressed Up, called Mirror Mirror, coloured with copics.  The papers are the ones that helped me find Northern Whimsy papers, as I was searching for something makeup themed - you can find this set HERE.  The sentiment stamp is from DigiStamp Boutique HERE.  The little tabs and flowers are MFT die-namics dies from different Blueprints sets, the fancy circle die is Spellbinders and the sparkly enamel dots are Doodlebug.

And here's the sketch
I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Everybody Art - anything goes
All Dressed Up - anything goes (with an ADU image)

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely weekend :o)

Arctic Fun - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

I'm just popping in quickly to show you a card made with a super cute DigiStamp Boutique image called Arctic Fun... I don't think I've used this one before, and I've no idea why!

I'm sensing a theme with my Christmas cards for this year... most of them seem to feature a penguin or two!

The image is coloured with copics, with a touch of Prisma pencil, plus Glamour Dust sparkle and some tiny Viva pearl 'snow' dots.  The papers are those pretty Northern Whimsy digi ones again - Peppermint Latte Plaid and Peppermint Latte Coordinates, printed on linen card.  Sentiment tag stamps are LOTV (stamped in white on black card), snowflake dies and the oval are MFT die-namics and the border die is possibly Lil' Inkers?  Black twine and blue gem from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Come and Get It - animals challenge
Crafty Cardmakers - animal magic
Cutie Pie - bear hugs
Moving Along With the Times - Christmas animals
Crafty Catz - anything goes + optional winter colours

There was a showcase at Dex's school today - they have them a few times a year to show parents whatever the kids are working on.  There were little quizzes for the parents to join in with, and Dex's table did 'sentences using your senses', so we had to write something about what we could see/ hear/ smell etc... my sentence won first place, and I asked Dex afterwards if he cheated and made sure I won... he said 'no, I thought you should have got second' LOL!  I always go to Dex if I want an honest opinion on anything I'm making... he doesn't sugar coat anything!

Thanks for popping in :o)

Friday 24 November 2017

Polkadoodles DT!

Good Morning :o)

I've sat on this news for a little while, so I'm thrilled to be able to say I've joined the DT at Polkadoodles!  I decided that the only way I'm ever going to get going again properly, making and blogging more, is if I join a fun new DT, so I did :o)

Our challenge is always 'anything goes', and there's a $10 voucher prize for the winner, plus a free digi stamp for each of the top 3, so lots of chances to win.

I've used a super cute penguin from Winnie White Christmas, coloured with copics and Glamour Dust glitter for 'snow'.  I also printed the papers, sentiment and holly from the same set onto linen card, fussy cut the holly and added some enamel dots for berries.  The penguin is also available HERE (with another cute penguin) separately from the set.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
The Merry Christmas Challenge - anything goes + Christmas
Cards und More - things with wings
Deep Ocean Challenge - things with wings
Pile It On - large sentiments and/ or things with wings

I'm scheduling this, as I'll be doing the school run and then walking the dog right about now... fingers crossed for a less freezing morning!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Stocking Milly - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

I've used one of the new images for this month from DigiStamp Boutique... this is Stocking Milly, available HERE.  Another Christmas card for this year's too small pile.

I coloured her with copics and a touch of Prisma pencil, and lots of Glamour Dust sparkle of course.  The stitched oval die is MFT die-namics, as are the (new, very naughty) snowflake dies.  The sentiment is a Tonic die and the sequin is Doodlebug.  It doesn't show in the photo, but the sentiment and snowflakes are all covered in Novo clear sparkle pen, so they're lovely and shimmery.  The papers are another recent naughty purchase... I was actually looking for some themed papers to fit a customer's request, which I found, but also couldn't quite resist these Christmas papers!  They're from Northern Whimsy and it's the Peppermint Latte Plaid set and Peppermint Latte Coordinates... they've printed very nicely onto linen card, so I'm sure I'll be back for some more.  If you're also tempted, make sure you go to their Facebook page first, as there's a 20% discount code available if you sign up for their newsletter.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Sketch Saturday - fab sketch
Allsorts - glitter
Crafting by Designs - get ready for Christmas
Animal Friends - Merry Christmas

We had Dex's parents evening last night, and his teacher is really pleased with him... she says his work is 'amazing' and in literacy he's already where he should be towards the end of Year 6 (he started Year 5 in Sept).  He just doesn't believe in himself enough, so we all need to work on boosting his confidence - she's giving him 'star of the week' today and he had a Deputy Head award this week for his writing.  Morgan got a 'praise letter' from his school today too, so we might have to take them roller skating or trampolining for a treat this weekend I think.

Thanks for popping in, hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Saturday 18 November 2017

Sweet Stampin' - birthday

Happy Saturday :o)

It's our birthday over at Sweet Stampin', so we'd love you to join in with your 'birthday' themed creations!

I rummaged through my stamps recently, and realised I haven't coloured a Sugar Nellie for ages... so, I grabbed one and had a play!  Her hair is a teeny bit intimidating, but you have to try, right?  I don't think this stamp is available anymore, but her name is Tabitha and you can find other Sugar Nellies HERE.  She's coloured with copics, the papers are My Mind's Eye 'Cambridge Court', sentiment is an old one from CC Designs, numbers are Crafter's Companion dies (coated in Nuvo clear sparkle pen).

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Crafty Catz - anything goes
In The Pink - spots and/ or stripes (not sure if I have enough pink?)
Aud Sentiments - anything goes + sentiment
Addicted to Stamps - use more than 1 stamp

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely weekend :o)

Large Christmas Penguins - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

I've actually made a Christmas card... hurrah!!!  My Christmas pile is pathetic this year, so I really must get a wriggle on!

Just love these penguins, aren't they fabulous?  They're called Large Christmas Penguins and you can find them HERE at DigiStamp Boutique.  I coloured them with copics and added lots of Glamour Dust sparkle.  The papers are Doodlebug, sentiment is from Clearly Besotted, snowflakes cut with a Martha Stewart punch, pearls from my stash.  And only other crafters will understand that feeling of panic when you're 3 penguins in and one of your grey copics runs out lol.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Cute Card Thursday - sparkles
The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge - anything Christmas goes
The Merry Christmas Challenge - anything goes + Christmas
Crafting By Designs - winter sparkle

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Sweet Stampin' - Fairies & Fantasy

Hello... ok, so I failed slightly with the 'more frequent blogging' thing... must try harder this week!  Had a lovely week with the boys though... well, mainly Dex, as Morgan spends most of his time in his dressing gown, on his Xbox in the dark.  Managed to drag him out for a walk once though, which is a fairly major achievement with a teenage boy I think!

So, anyway... our challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'fairies & fantasy'.  I have a basket of images that I've either stamped or printed, and then not got round to colouring, so I thought I'd have a rummage and choose one from there.

I'd forgotten about this image - she's adorable, isn't she?!  She's a digi from CC Designs, but I don't know if she's even available anymore... maybe as a stamp?  I coloured her with copics and a touch of prisma pencil.  The papers are new (to me) from Polka Doodles, they're called Belle Papillon, the star die is Memory Box, sentiment is Clearly Besotted.  Finished off with some Glamour Dust sparkle for her wings and a sparkly enamel dot... oh, and some lace I found in my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Aud Sentiments - bingo (pink, digi, die cuts)
Crazy 4 Challenges - layer it up
Cutie Pie - think pink

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Busy Alf - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Happy Saturday :o)

Oh, I really must blog more often!  I make cards and then just forget to blog them... need to start scheduling a few posts in advance I think, try and override my forgetfulness!

Anyway, here's one I made for a customer weeks ago, and then forgot to post...

I've used the fabulous Alf from DigiStamp Boutique, as my customer was quite taken with him... and really, who wouldn't be?  He might actually be my favourite character ever.  You can find Alf HERE.  He's coloured with copics, the papers are retired ones from LOTV and the large number dies are Crafter's Companion.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Dream Valley - birthdays

The boys are off for the half-term now, and Dex has plans for fairy cakes and crafting apparently... but hopefully I'll remember to pop back soon!  Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Saturday 21 October 2017

Sweet Stampin' - bingo board for Halloween

Happy Saturday :o)

For this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' we have a Halloween bingo board... although there are a couple of lines where you could squeeze something 'un-Halloween' in too!

Here's my card... another one that I have absolutely no use for really, but I had fun making it.

I used the Halloween Squares set from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with copics, with some old First Edition papers and a sentiment from a magical/ fairy themed set... which is so old I have no idea where it was from.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - photo inspiration
Allsorts - Halloween
Try it on Tuesdays - Halloween
Sweet Stampers - autumn or Halloween
The Crazy Challenge - Halloween
Pile It On - fantasy and/ or spiders/ cobwebs

Pav's off out tonight (drinking mucky beer, as Dex puts it), so I have pizza and the remote control all to myself... might even get my knitting out.  Ooh I know how to party eh?!

Thanks for popping in :o)

Saturday 7 October 2017

Sweet Stampin' - distressing

Happy Saturday :o)

This week at Sweet Stampin' we'd like to see your 'distressed' cards... my cards tend to be quite neat and 'clean', but every now and then I do like to play with inks and distressing tools.  I've even been known to rip paper, but I have to be feeling very brave for that lol!

I couldn't decide what to make, so ended up playing with some new male sentiment stamps I bought from Polkadoodles - you can find them HERE.  Pav's birthday has been and gone, so I'm not sure why I chose the husband stamp... maybe someone will need one, otherwise I'll be super organised for his next birthday for a change lol.  I stamped the sentiments in black Archival ink, the distress inks are Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron.  Papers are an old First Edition pad and the star die was from Joanna Sheen.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Aud Sentiments - use a die-cut plus a sentiment
Creatalicious - anything goes with optional make your own background

Actually, thinking about it, I probably should have made a Christmas card shouldn't I?!  Think I've only made about 3 so far this year... oops!

Thanks for popping in :o)

Saturday 30 September 2017

Basketball Owen - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Happy Saturday :o)

Today I'm sharing the card I made for Morgan's 15th birthday a few days ago.

Anything basketball related usually goes down well with Morgan, so I used Basketball Owen from DigiStamp Boutique.  I coloured him with copics and used the sentiment that's included with the image.  Buttons from my stash, and I can't remember what the papers are... will have to check later!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - anything goes
Crafty Addicts - use a brad/ button
Addicted to Stamps - anything goes

I met up with an old friend this morning for a walk with the dogs (hers and mine that is, I haven't been daft enough to get another dog...).  We went to school together and lived on streets next to each other, but haven't met up since we were teenagers... so, some time ago lol!  She's got a very handsome dalmatian, and Chester played with him while we walked and chatted.  I was really nervous about meeting up, but it was so lovely to see her and the dogs are as silly and hyper as each other, so I'm sure we'll do it again.

Thanks for popping in, hope you're all having a lovely weekend :o)

Tuesday 26 September 2017

Boys Toys/ In the Garden - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello again :o)

I'm here with a card I made for an order, using images from DigiStamp Boutique.

I really am hopeless at taking photos of anything other than square cards, but I tried!

The golf cart and fishing images are from the Boys Toys set and the gardening images are from In the Garden - Veggies.  With most of them I printed directly onto the patterned paper, and then again onto my usual colouring paper, coloured them with copics, and then cut out the coloured bits and layered them over the printed images.  The number dies are MFT die-namics, sun die is Lil' Inkers, husband stamp is Clearly Besotted, the rest of the text is computer generated.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says - pop it up
Tuesday Throwdown - more than one fold

We're off to my mum's for fish & chips, as it's Morgan's 15th (!!!!) birthday tomorrow, and he wants to go to Meadowhall (generally known as Meadowhell in our house) to spend his birthday money... so mum's tonight, Meadowhall tomorrow.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Saturday 23 September 2017

Sweet Stampin' - cute & cuddly

Hello again... at last!

Oh, I've been a rubbish blogger again... shame on me!  I'll waffle on about why at the end, so you can skip it if you like ;o)

Our challenge over at Sweet Stampin' for this week is 'cute & cuddly', which fit in nicely with a card I needed to make for my lovely step-sister (from her dad and my mum).

The image is Girl's Best Friend from Tiddly Inks, coloured with copics.  Papers and enamel dots are Doodlebug, the leafy die I think is Memory Box, the flower is MFT die-namics.  The sentiment is a mix of LOTV and Clearly Besotted stamps.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Tiddly Inks Challenge - anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky - floral embellishments
Daisy Chain - in the pink
Creatalicious Challenges - anything goes with optional leaves
Use Your Stuff - pets

So, what have I been up to for the last few weeks?  Well, I was chatting with my mum, casually saying how I'd quite like to pick up some knitting again, and maybe learn to crochet... that would probably have been the last I thought of it, but hubby heard me and the next time he went to the shop he came home with the first issue of one of those weekly knitting mags, where you get wool and patterns to make squares each week, and it takes years and several hundred pounds to make a throw lol... and then signed me up for the subscription for it.  So then I had to have a go, didn't I?!  And I've got rather addicted already.  It's probably going on 20yrs since I last knitted but it's all coming back and I'm really enjoying my 'new' hobby.  I've finished a hat for myself and now I'm working on one for Dex, so I'm sure I'll share pics on here eventually... apologies in advance to anyone who finds knitting deadly dull lol.

Oh, and if anyone's still interested in the boring weight loss stuff, I've now lost 40lbs!

Thanks for popping in, hope you're having a lovely weekend :o)

Saturday 26 August 2017

Sweet Stampin' - swirls

Happy Saturday :o)

This week's challenge at Sweet Stampin' is 'swirls', so I got one of my favourite dies out - the pretty Memory Box corner bow.

I've used an image from an old Thomas Kinkade CD, which always feels like cheating... but as I have these things I might as well get them out occasionally!  I think it was bought years ago for an order and only used once.  The papers are retired ones from LOTV, birthday tag stamp is also from a LOTV set.  The dies are all Memory Box, apart from the numbers which are MFT dienamics.  Lace and enamel dots from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Try It On Tuesday - in my garden

We've been away this week for a last minute break... not planned, we just spotted an old cottage in Kent with a few days available so off we went :o)  We had our own little entrance to Mote Park, so we've done lots of walking and spent a day on the beach at Kingsgate Bay, which is a really lovely little dog friendly beach... had a great time!

Ooh almost forgot - I had my hair chopped off, want to see?

I soooo hate photos of me, but has to be done occasionally I suppose!

Thanks for popping in, hope you're having a lovely weekend :o)

Saturday 12 August 2017

Sweet Stampin' - flowers

Happy Saturday :o)

Our challenge over at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'flowers'... easy peasy!

I've used the FAB new Sweet Flamingo set from DigiStamp Boutique (sentiment included), coloured with copics.  The papers are Crafter's Companion, flowers cut with an MFT die with Doodlebug enamel dot centres, MFT frame die and ribbon from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says (Monday) - happy birthday
CRAFT - anything goes
Moving Along With The Times - things that fly
As You Like It - favourite embellishment & why (I love enamel dots as they add a bit of interest but they're quite flat, I also use this flower die a lot as it just seems to suit my style so works with loads of cards)

No whingy whining from me this week, as I'm feeling much better and I've driven the new car!  It's easy to drive and I'm not scared of it anymore lol.

Thanks for popping in, hope you're having a lovely weekend :o)

Saturday 5 August 2017

A card and a car...

Happy Saturday :o)

Well this week has been a bit on the rubbish side... lots of rain and the worst cold I've had for a very long time!  I've had no energy at all and haven't been for a single walk - the dog hasn't gone without though, Pav's been taking him.  Finally feeling up to a short wander today so we're off out soon.

Here's a card I made for an order, using a free image from Sliekje HERE that luckily fit my customer's brief perfectly.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Cards and More - dots, dots, dots
Creative Knockouts - furry friends
Moo-Mania - cats

And here's my new car... and me looking very rough after several days of this rotten cold!!  My face is flaky and spotty at the same time, and it looks like I couldn't even be bothered to brush my hair here lol.  I haven't driven the car yet, partly because I'm terrified, partly because I've felt too ill, and partly because I seem to be slightly too small for it!  I've had to buy a wedge cushion to boost me up a few inches and I'll need to add a mat under the pedals too, as my feet are too small to comfortably reach the pedals!  It's supposed to be a good car for short people apparently...

Thanks for popping in, hope you're having a lovely weekend :o)

Saturday 29 July 2017

I've been to test drive my new car today... eeeeeek!  For the last 17ish years I've driven a Corsa... the same Corsa for all those years, gradually getting more and more decrepit, but still plodding along and running fine.  I don't like change!  Recently I was driving along and the exhaust fell off lol, but that got fixed and all was well again.  But my lovely mum decided it was time for a new one, so she's only gone and bought me one!  It's a Nissan Note, not brand new, but a very swish and shiny upgrade from my old faithful falling to bits banger... it'll be coming home in a few days and instead of being excited I'm terrified, I can't imagine driving anything else!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, thanks for popping in :o)

Teacher thank you cards

Happy Saturday :o)

I meant to blog my teacher thank yous earlier in the week but didn't quite get round to it... the last week of school is always so busy!  The school holidays have now officially begun (yay!) and Pav's off for the first week too (yay again!).

So anyway, onto the cards... the ginger ones were for Dex's teachers (Dex always wants ginger cats to match Boris)...

The black ones were for an order...

The blackboard/ chalkboard bases are an MFT die-namics set - I've smeared a bit of white ink onto black card for a slightly chalky effect, and kept the embellishments simple... sentiments were added using 'longandlean' font.  The fab little cat is from Gerda Steiner HERE, coloured with copics.

We actually went out last night (very rare occurrence) to see The Wedding Singer at the Lyceum theatre... I wore a (new) dress and (new) very very high heels... getting brave lol!  It was lots of fun, we really must make the effort more often.... it's much easier to throw my comfy boots on and go for a walk though!!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend... thanks for popping in :o)

Flippin' Birthday - DigiStamp Boutique DT

It... is.... too.... hot... that is all.

Here's the card I made from the kids for Pav - Dex loves pancakes, and Pav makes them as a Saturday treat most weeks, so this image seemed appropriate!

It's Ralph - Flippin' Birthday from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with copics - the sentiment is included with the image.  I think the papers are Basic Grey, they're old ones anyway... I keep all the smaller scraps of papers together with the pads, and sometimes I like to set myself little challenges to use leftover scraps exactly as they are, without cutting them down.  It gives me new layout ideas when I'm getting bored!

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Crafty Cardmakers - lots of layers
Monthly Colour Inspiration Link Up - anything hand coloured goes
Come and Get It - use 2 or more designer papers

Thanks for popping in :o)

Sweet Stampin' - Christmas in July

Happy Saturday :o)

Our theme at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'Christmas in July'... I'm so disorganised when it comes to Christmas, anything that gets me doing some of it in advance is a very good thing!

I have no memory of buying this stamp... I had a look through my LOTV drawer (yes, a whole drawer...) for inspiration, and there it was, the sneaky wee thing!  It's called Penguin Pals and it's coloured with copics.  The papers are Doodlebug, sentiment is Clearly Besotted and the scalloped border is an MFT die.  Glamour dust and Doodlebug enamel dots to finish it off.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Christmas at Sweet Stampin' - anything Christmas goes
Aud Sentiments - Christmas in July + a sentiment
Winter Wonderland - Christmas penguins

Thanks for popping in :o)
